  • With Robby Gordon scheduled to participate in the SCORE BAJA 1000 Desert Race this week, Gordon has selected David Gilliland to practice and qualify the # 55 Fruit of the Loom Chevrolet this weekend. Gilliland is a competitor in the NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series and a resident of Riverside, CA. Gordon will arrive in Homestead early Friday morning and participate in “happy hour” and race the car on Saturday. Visit David’s Website
  • Gordon has averaged 127 points per start in his 24 Busch Series starts. If he had started all 31 races to date and maintained that average, Gordon would stand in fourth position right now in the NASCAR Busch Series Points race.

Robby Gordon’s Comments on Homestead-Miami Speedway:

“We have made it to the end of our first year with the Fruit of the Loom NASCAR Busch Series Chevrolet, and looking back one year ago this weekend when we announced the sponsorship here in Homestead , it reminds me that we had only one car and virtually no employees. We went to work over the off-season and came out in the first race in Daytona Beach and ran up front the entire race and nearly won. I’m proud to say that from that point forward we have been one of the teams to beat in the Busch garage. Considering all the top Cup Series teams that are in the Busch Series, we are really proud of our efforts. Each week we are battling with teams owned by Hendrick, DEI, Roush, RCR and Ganassi. The guys on our team have worked hard all year and given us a chance each week to win with the Fruit of the Loom Chevrolet. Next year should be even better for us, we will have more notes and information to work with and that should help us to visit victory lane a few more times. Fruit of the Loom has been a terrific sponsor for our racing team. We have grown together and I owe them a very big Thank You for helping to get us started.”
