No. 7 Mac Tools Ford Fusion

Race Preview

Event/Date: Subway 500 – October 21, 2007

Venue: Martinsville SpeedwayMartinsville, VA

TV/Radio: ABC, 1:30 p.m. EST, MRN Radio, 1:30 p.m.

Welcome to Nextel Cup – This weekend’s event will mark the debut appearance of the No. 7 Mac Tools Ford Fusion. It is also the first ever Mac Tools sponsored NASCAR Nextel Cup Series car. Jim Beam, Menards, Mapei, and Motorola will serve as associates.

About Mac Tools – Mac Tools is a leader in quality, professional hand tools. The same entrepreneurial spirit that drives us today has powered Mac Tools for 67 years. Mac Tools has been a part of The Stanley Works since 1980. Our 2,000-distributor base reaches automotive shops in mobile tool trucks well beyond the United States and includes Canada, the U.K., France, Japan, Europe, Latin America and others. For more information, please visit www.mactools.com.

Chassis – Robby Gordon Motorsports will run Chassis No. 203 at this weekend’s event. No. 203 last raced at Richmond International Raceway in September. Chassis No. 201 will assume back-up duties. Both cars tested at Greenville-Pickens Raceway on Tuesday of this week.

Short Trackin’ – With 14 starts under his belt at the track sometimes referred to as “two drag strips with a turnaround on each end”, Gordon’s driving style is well-suited for the demanding oval. This time around, the driver of the No. 7 Ford Fusion will attempt to improve on his one top-20 and four top-25 finishes at the demanding track. With Martinsville being the smallest track that the NASCAR Nextel Cup circuit visits, it is bound to be a fender-rubbing, splitter-bumping, wing-hanging event.

CORR Race – Gordon will race in the Championship Off Road Racing (CORR) Series race this weekend at the Texas Motor Speedway. He will be racing in both the Lucas Oil Series Pro 2 point’s races as well as the Pro 2 Jason Baldwin Cup Qualifier.
