Las Vegas – March 5, 2000

Las Vegas , NV – Robby Gordon showed his speed early in the weekend at Las Vegas posting a 12th-place qualifying effort. In the first stint during the race his Ford Taurus went directly to the back, but a tape change during the first pitstop changed everything and Gordon roared to the front of the field. Gordon picked up 25 positions in 40 laps, before taking over the lead of the race which he held for eight laps until pitting. Rains halted the finish of the race and Gordon had to settle for a 13th-place finish.
