Robby
Gordon Presents Award at X Games
WELCOME, N.C. (Feb. 3, 2003) — No. 31 Cingular
Wireless driver Robby Gordon is once again enjoying motocross riding
but this time he has more of a backseat to the action.
Gordon presented the trophy to the winner in
the Moto X Big Air finals at the X Games in Aspen, Colo., this week.
The event and trophy presentation are scheduled to air on ESPN on
Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. ET.
"I’ve always loved watching the X Games,
so this is a pretty big thrill for me," Gordon said. "Most
people know that I have a lot of daredevil in me and I guess that
got me in trouble last year at Pocono with my little mishap. But
I have a lot of respect for what these athletes do and if I wasn’t
driving the Cingular Wireless car, I’d be trying to join them."
Gordon was tapped as a presenter by Red
Bull, one of his personal sponsors in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series.
Red Bull sponsored 18 athletes in the X Games, including the winner
of the Moto X Big Air competition.
